First Solar-Powered City to Fuel Clean
      Industry at Babcock Ranch, FL
The 17,000 acre Solar City of the
Future located in Southwest Florida, just launched its website

      www.babcockranchflorida.com
Real estate developer Kitson & Partners announced a landmark agreement
with Florida Power & Light to build the worlds largest solar photovoltaic
power plant at Babcock Ranch, Florida. The new city will consume less
power than the proposed city on-site solar facilities will produce
allowing it to become the first city on earth powered by zero-emission
      solar energy!

The website offers a virtual tour of the proposed city with a smart
grid, commercial and residential building constructed according to
Florida Green Building Council standards, and large areas of protected
greenways and open space. The new city is projected to generate 20,000
permanent jobs across a wide range of industries. The groundbreaking is
targeted for late 2009 with construction of the city center targeted for
      mid 2010.

This project truly does make Florida the Sunshine State!

      Earth Day
Forty years later! Observe Earth Day at
      www.earthday.net
I remember celebrating the first Earth Day. It is hard to believe that so
much time has passed and we are still not as advanced as I had imagined we
would be when I was a teen. Yet, the technology has progressed enormously
and the ideas are not simply ideals. April 22, 2009 is a good day to
Follow the Power of the Sun and make the positive changes for our earth. |
